QUESTION: Bad hair day?
WHAT I LEARNED: Some days an umbrella does more harm than good.
Schools are out. Offices closed down this morning. I have been to the grocery store, and the coffee shop - among other necessary destinations - earlier today as the wind starting picking up and the first raindrops started falling. Lines were long and parking spots were scarce. There was no shopping cart to be seen at the local supermarket. Everyone seems to love the drama of a good storm - it must be some primal instinct. All the milk, bread, and water are gone. I got dove bars and cheez-its though. Now the rain is pouring. The wind is blowing the trees this way and that way. There is a little river running along the side of the house. The electricity is flickering ominously. The candles are already lite. I had to talk my kid out of walking around in the wind and the rain for the fun of it about an hour ago. Boy am I a spoil-sport or what. However, I don't want a tree falling on the kid even though he has been a little bit of a smartie-pants lately. I can see him blowing up the street and me calling after him saying - I told you so - the words chasing after him in the big wind. The power has gone out a few times already so I am signing off for now - I am wet and windy but still typing.
