Chocolate Confusion Wednesday, Apr. 13, 2005, 9:35 p.m.
QUESTION: What price chocolate?
WHAT I LEARNED: There ain't no free lunch.
If you go into a candy store where each piece of candy cost a couple bucks, it is unlikely that you are going to get a big lush strawberry dipped in chocolate for free. While I was purchasing a little bag of chocolate truffles recently, two ladies came into the shop. Obviously bedazzled by chocolate, they began to nibble on some chocolate-dipped fruits that were displayed on a fancy tray. Talk about living in a fantasy world. Have you ever looked at the price of those fancy fruits? They are definitely not the stuff of samples. The price of such naivety? A cool 10 bucks covered the price of exiting the store. Talk about unexpected splurges. How embarrassing. How expensive. And yet, how delightfully delicious.
Im so glad it wasnt me.
