Turkey Glow
Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, 12:07 p.m.
By the end of the weekend I will have turkey and cranberry sauce running through my veins. Right now I am ready for more. More turkey, more cranberries, more mashed potatoes, more corn, more dressing, more rolls and butter, more fat little olives, MORE, MORE, MORE. I will eat it for lunch/dinner tonight. I will eat it for lunch/dinner tomorrow.
Somewhere around Sunday I will be desperately looking for the freezer bags and we will be eating in some little Greek/Italian place, refusing to bring another morsel of the Thanksgiving feast to our lips. NO MORE, NO MORE, NO MORE, we will cry from somewhere in the center of our beings. Bring us souvlaki, spaghetti, burgers with fries. Give us chicken fingers, Greek salads, steak and cheese subs.
In the depths of winter I will pull out a turkey dinner from the back of the freezer and be thankful all over again.
