Snowy Weekend Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, 11:13 p.m.
QUESTION: Snow?
WHAT I LEARNED: Snow makes me grocery shop.
Snow started earlier than we expected yesterday evening and it was still coming down this morning in big fat flakes. There was snow and slush on the roads but it could have been much worse. Snow defined our actions this weekend from the urgent call of the grocery store run (which I was quick to heed) to a dawning recognition (even among our highly mobile 18-year old) that plans to go out for the night must be set aside and replaced with boring family stuff. Luckily we had groceries and cable TV to ease the pain of being snowbound for a few hours. This afternoon the sun came out quite suddenly. The snow and sunlight intermingled for a bit for some really pretty light on white effects. Soon life was back to business as usual with the benefit of some extra groceries in the fridge. And how was your weekend?
DETAILS: Coffee: toffee nut latte + Listening to: bedtime sounds + Observing: a desk that needs straightening + Thinking: I'm kind of liking winter this year + Weather: some snow.
