Ok, so this is too much information straight from the Bettyalready's Too Much Information Act, but I forgot what I was going to say because my stomach itches SO BADLY. I can't remember. Grrr.

Hey at least you burned. I was the one everybody always thought would be burned to a crisp but I *didn't* burn. I was so pale I couldn't wear cream-colored clothes because I was whiter than they were. I finally tanned after thirty years in Arizona but dang... It took me a long, long time!

I love that banner! I have a coconut lotion I use in the middle of winter to give me a little bit of summer sweetness. P.S. As a teen, my friends and I used baby oil mixed with iodine for that deep cancer-must-be-on-its-way look. *shutter*

Hey, I am back from a long diaryland hiatus, and you still make me laugh and think, same as ever! Feel free to stop by my site!

Nice memories! And what a funny story about you sans suit. I am completely allergic to all sunscreen (even PABA-free). I have to wear long sleeves all summer - and that's why I have so much zinc oxide on my nose (picture on my profile page). GAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Smell of Coppertone = Smell of summer. I miss the coppertone girl. They would never allow that ad today.

Ah, Coppertone! I'll always associate that smell with the beach!

Did you know that the Coppertone Girl was Brooke Shields? That's her bottom, ask Andre Agassi - he knows!

When I was a baby the considered medical opinion was that all children needed lots of sunshine (especially for vitamin D) and so I was sunbathed regularly as an infant -- and ran around bare as a toddler -- usually just in shorts as a bigger kid. Always very deep tans every summer. When you grow up you spend more time in places like offices and don't get as much sun, but when I was in my thirties spent many summer days at a clothing optional lake (affiliated with the university where I worked and was a grad student) returning to that deep all over tan of my early childhood. Now, years later, I use gallons of sunblock before venturing outside in the summer and am always looking at my skin in the shower, worrying about the long term effects of all that sun exposure. But oh, I did love that sunshine.
