A lovely and insightful post. I am glad that your mom is recovering and is able to do so much. That is not always the case! (by the way, I can't program our new VCR at all-it's quite complicated even for someone who hasn't had a stroke)I hope she continues to progress and make gains! So sorry about her cat--that is horrible timing. Take care!

I have been catching up on my reads. I'm sorry to hear about your mom and hope she recovers quickly. My prayers go out for you and yours.

Like Cosmic, I'm catching up and will keep you and your mother in my heart. Like Jan, I really enjoyed your entry today. I'm reading a book called the Power of Now, and it concurs with your mother in law's wisdom. Planning to adopt your family's holiday tradition, Katherine

Hi. Will keep your mother in prayer. My garnny had a major stroke just a few months ago, so I totally understand how painful it is to become dependent on people after so many years of self reliance. Continue to encourage and talk to her. That will keep her cheerful and give her hope. :)

I'm really relieved to hear that she is ok, that maybe it wasn't too bad a stroke, even though any stroke is bad. My grandma had Alzheimers and I miss her quite a bit.
