While I can't pinpoint exactly which high heeled shoes I was wearing at the time, once I managed to fall down a flight of stairs -- from a standing-still position -- at the library, in front of all the people who had come for the grand re-opening after a renovation.

I bought some cowboy boots with the slickest soles in the west. I go down my stairs using hands and knees when I wear them. (But they look so cool!)

oh you poor thing, I hope you are alright. As for me, fortunately, have not had the opportunity to fall on my butt by some cute shoes that I liked.

New heels are wicked on waxed floors. I hope you heal quickly.

I manage to fall no matter what I've got on my feet, 'cos I'm a klutz like that. But if you sandpaper the soles of your new shoes before you wear them, or walk back and forth across a paved area in them before going into a building, they're usually less treacherous.

I fall a lot. I can fall from a stand.

I did that recently, borrowed some really pretty Barbie Doll shoes from my daughter with a four inch heel which I NEVER wear... I am reminded why I never wear them... I wrote about it HERE

Ouch! Thank goodness society does not expect much fashion sense from me, as a man...However, this week, since it got a little cold, I had to whip out the "gasoline jacket" that looks just like it sounds...I got a lot of dirty looks because of it's sartorial ghastliness...

ouch! hope your behind (and your ego!) isn't too bruised. you can find these little rubber patches to put on the bottoms of shoes. they sell them in the shoe department at target (by the shoelaces). i forget what they're called, but the ones i buy are grey. they have an adhesive backing, so you just peel and stick, and voila! instant traction. since discovering them, i've put some on all of my dress shoes and boots and they make a world of difference! hope that's helpful - r

OW! Hope you are okay! And yes.....I too have fallen (crashed and burned). I was wearing wooden-heeled boots and teaching a group of 4th graders how to folk dance. I hit a spot of water on the floor and went ass over appetite - and my skirt hiked ALL the way up. Lovely.

LOL! Oh, you poor *thing*! :) I somehow missed this entry before. I hope you weren't hurt, and oh, do I know that embarrassment; I'm so sorry!
