You didn't say who your Dad was voting for? (hahahaha) I miss my Dad. There was this story I heard about a Mom who hated that her son always burst thru the door after school and demanded, "What's to eat, I'm starving." Turns out that her son was an early morning paper delivery boy and one morning he just went missing. (child abduction?) She said that now she would give anything in the world to hear those annoying words of her son's. I'm sorry your Dad is being a pain. I'd give anything right now to be able to hear my Dad be a pain. I know you would, too. I don't know WHY politics makes everyone so crazy, but it does. Also, parents just know what buttons to push of their child's and vice versa. (((hugs)))

This could be my story only "dad" would be "mom". In the times we do discuss politics, she makes her point over everyone else's. In fact, my husband was so pissed off last time that he voted for Gore mainly because he was feeling a little spiteful that he couldn't get a word in edgewise. He just admitted that to me a week or so ago. So we just don't talk about it.

I will make a quick comment because I am one of those who loaths everything political. I hope your dad figures out how wrong he is, not on his political views, but to try and force you to fit the mold he wants you to fit. The harder he pushes you, the harder he is inadvertently pushing you away.

Politics. It's what makes the monkeys and dolphins actually smarter than humans.

Boy politics really is crazy. Thankfully I keep out of political type of conversations with everyone I know. :P But power to you for hanging up on your dad. Sure there's no peace, but you have your pride. :D
