"Isnt it odd how when we finally get the whole thing going right, we are usually at the end of whatever it was we finally figured out how to do. Life is like that sometimes." Truer words may never have been written. Amen.

It's funny, but it's the people who think that they are all that, that really are not. They might dress in a way that they consider better, but it certainly doesn't make them better people. I hope that you enjoyed your ballet season, and that you and your children took something from the experience. What a great thing to share with them.

you know, those matinees....i don't know...my mom always took us to those sunday afternoon showings because it meant that she absolutely did *not* have to dress us up beyond what we were comfortable with. a friday night or saturday night...even a weeknight, yeah, you had to dress up. but on saturday and sunday afternoons, you could get away with khakis and a nice polo, for goodness sake. and now that i'm older, i always go for the matinee performances because, like your son, i am just *not* into dressing up. no way. i guess my point is that your kids got the best cultural experience and were comfortable. i know that now, even at twenty five, if i had to wear tights to every cultural function i attend, i wouldn't ever glean a thing from it....i'd be too busy hitching up stockings and worrying about exactly when i'll fall in my ridiculous shoes. whats next after ballet? which ones did you see?
