Friday Five: Thoughtful Questions
Sunday, Jun. 01, 2003, 2:05 a.m.
QUESTION: What happens to a Friday Five on a Saturday night?
What I Learned: Better late than never.
1. What do you most want to be remembered for?
I just want to be remembered by my kids as a loving mom - someone who inspired them to be their best, showed them that you can do anything you set your mind to, taught them the value of a positive attitude, and reminded them that they have something special to contribute to the world even if they have no idea what it is.
2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life? Let nothing disturb you; nothing frighten you. All things are passing. God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Nothing is wanting to him who possesses God. God alone suffices.

3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year?
I feel that starting my blog Little Island: a Weblog on Surviving Suburban Living was my most significant achievement in the last year. Because I followed through on creating a blog without any prior experience in blogging or web publishing, I eventually discovered Diaryland and was able to take the next step in the process creating an online diary Suburban Island. You can read my very first entry here. (Its going to make you hungry for turkey if you read it though.) Both the Isles are very rewarding in their own way and I really feel like I have accomplished something special with each of them.
4. What about the past ten years?
First, raising 2 amazing kids. I really like and admire my kids. I am glad to be a part in their life and I am proud of them every day. Second, obtaining two graduate degrees back-to-back. What a way to start out the 21st century.
5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say?
Always have faith in God and always believe in yourself.
