Possible Snow Day Ahead
Thursday, Dec. 05, 2002, 1:26 a.m.

It's snowing here! Every school kid and more than a few adults are ready for a snow day.

For kids this means:

  • Playing in the snow until you face turns red and your fingers feel numb through your gloves
  • Turning up at home soaking wet and changing into something dry and warm
  • Sitting in front of the TV and eating a nice hot lunch
  • Hoping the snow never goes away.

Sounds good doesn't it?

For moms this means:

  • Finding snow clothes from every hard-to-access point in the house
  • Getting kids into layers of snow gear
  • Picking up masses of wet clothes scattered throughout the house every few hours
  • Wiping up patches of ice mixed with dirt from every inch of carpeted area between the front door and the television/bathroom/kitchen/computer room
  • Drying loads of laundry repeatedly throughout the day
  • Cooking and cooking and cooking
  • Wondering when the snow is going to melt.

I guess that's what you get for growing up.
